Calvin D. Hawkins is currently the interim pastor at St. Timothy Community Church in Gary, Indiana. He will serve in that capacity until the congregation calls a senior pastor.

Calvin is a recipient of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Social Theology Award for Hood Theological Seminary. Moreover, he received the Jonathan M. Daniels Fellowship Award from the Episcopal Divinity School.

Calvin holds a B.A. in history from Huntington University where he taught and received an honorary doctorate; he received a Juris Doctor degree from the Howard University School of Law; and he received a Masters of Divinity degree from Wesley Theological Seminary. A renaissance man on many levels Calvin has taught at college, university, law and judiciary school levels, has served in Methodist and Presbyterian churches, has arbitrated labor and union disputes, has mediated family and civil law disputes, has practiced in ecclesiastical courts and even has found time to coach basketball on a collegiate level.

Calvin and his wife, Lennie, are parents of three children and five grandchildren
